Winter San Antonio Building Codes Academy (SABCA)
INTRODUCTION
The San Antonio Building Codes Academy (SABCA) is hosting
two separate seminars on the International Association of Electrical
Inspectors (IAEI) Hazardous Locations. These seminars will be
presented by a Subject Matter Expert from IAEI's Education, Codes and
Standards section.
PURPOSE
The half-day course
is worth 4 hours of continuing education credit (0.4 CEUs) for
either the morning or afternoon session on February 4, 2016. The
morning seminar will be offered from 8:00 a.m-12:00 noon. The afternoon
seminar is from 12:30-4:30 p.m.
This IAEI
presentation covers the requirements for electrical installations in
hazardous (classified) locations for special occupancies. It is primarily
based on the provisions set forth in the National Electrical Code® NFPA
70 (2014 Edition). This material was developed in the interest in
promoting greater understanding and increasing electrical safety for
systems in hazardous (classified) locations. This seminar clearly
explains in easily understood language the fundamentals and critical
requirements found in the hazardous (classified) environment.
REGISTRATION
The deadline for a
guaranteed reservation is 4:30 p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016. We will
accept registrations up to the day of each event on a space-available basis,
however we cannot guarantee a workbook for anyone registering after the
deadline. Space is limited to the first 70 registrants for each session.
The registration fee
is $150 per course. On-line registration will begin January 7, 2016. An
e-mail acknowledgement will be sent once payment is made through the
on-line registration system, if you pay by credit card. If you need an

Each seminar will be held in the Phil Hardberger Park
Urban Ecology Center, Gathering Hall from 8:00 a.m.-12 noon and a second
seminar from 12:30-4:30 p.m. Driving Directions to the Phil Hardberger

large rustic metal sign that goes straight into the air with Phil
Hardberger Park on it. Sign can be seen from NW Military Highway. When
entering the park go straight back and park in the large parking lot on
the right after the stop sign. The Urban Ecology Center is a series of
buildings connected by porches.

PM, 2015. Friday, January 22, 2016 will receive a full refund.
Cancellation requests received after 4:30
p.m. Friday, January 22, 2016, are subject to a $50 cancellation
