Dear Neighbors,
Tonight is our annual District 10 Holiday Gathering
and last Community Meeting of 2015. It will be held at the Northern
Hills Golf Course and will include hors d'oeuvres and potluck
desserts. We will be sponsoring a toy drive during this time, and
are accepting new, unwrapped toys to benefit A World for Children,
a 501c3 nonprofit benefiting foster families in the San Antonio
area. If you are not able to attend the Holiday Gathering but would
like to donate toys, we will accept all toy donations at our field
office every day this week. Please be sure to call our office to
coordinate drop offs.
As the holiday season continues, let's remember to be
safe when traveling so everyone comes back to San Antonio in one
piece. If you haven't seen it already, check out our PSA
on the City of San Antonio's YouTube page.
Our offices will be closed to celebrate the Christmas
and New Year's holidays from December 23rd to January 3rd. We
advise our residents to contact 311 with any city service requests
during this time. We will be sharing various city services and
office holiday closure schedules as they become available on our
Facebook and Twitter pages, so be sure to watch for those.
Thank you for staying actively involved in our
community and for allowing me to represent the best district in San
Antonio. Together, we have accomplished a lot for our fine city,
and I look forward to what we can do in 2016.
Sincerely,
Mike Gallagher
City Councilman District 10

Annual Basura Bash Waterways Cleanup
February
21, 2016, 8AM-12PM
Last year's Basura Bash cleanup of
Salado Creek at the Robert L. B. Tobin Trailhead was an
incredibly success. We are once again spearheading this event for the
Robert L. B. Tobin Trailhead and will be needing approximately
200 volunteers to sign up. We will be posting more information as it
becomes available, but we encourage you to spread the word to high
schools, community groups, troop leaders and neighborhood
associations to save the date!
About the Basura Bash Planning
Organization:
The Basura Bash Planning
Organization is a volunteer organization with a mission to increase
stewardship of the San Antonio Area Waterways through the
mobilization of volunteers, community education and building
public/private partnerships for the betterment of our community's
environment. Basura Bash is the largest single-day waterway cleanup
in Texas. This event has seen continued growth over the past 22 years
in both the number of volunteers and waterways cleaned.
