District 10 Update 29 May 2020

District 10 Newsflash Brought to you by Councilman Clayton H. Perry May 29, 2020 Howdy Neighbors, We hope that you all are staying healthy. We have really missed seeing all of your faces over these last few months. While we are not meeting in person next month, we will be hosting a virtual District 10 Community Meeting on Monday, June 15 at 7:00 PM. We'll be joined by Justin Chamberlain with CPS Energy and Amin Tohmaz and Gerald Roebuck with Code Compliance. We will also be hosting a virtual FY 2021 Budget Town Hall with City Manager, Erik Walsh, on Tuesday, June 23 at 7:00 PM. Both meetings will air on TVSA. TVSA can be seen on the following video providers: Spectrum Cable Channel 21, Grande Cable Channel 20, AT&T U-verse Channel 99, Digital Antenna Channel 16.1 and online at www.sanantonio.gov/tvsa. We have put together an approximately six minute survey to gather your input regarding the FY 2021 Budget. The first budget briefing took place on May 28. The FY 2020 Mid-Year Budget Review can be found here and the proposed COVID-19 Community Recovery and Resiliency Plan can be found here. Please do not hesitate to contact our office if we can be of any assistance to you. The District 10 team is still on hand and available to address your needs and concerns throughout this time. - Clayton Upcoming Meetings Virtual District 10 Community Meeting - June 15, 7:00 PM Virtual District 10 Budget Town Hall - June 23, 7:00 PM COVID-19 Updates Metro Health continues to provide up-to-date information and resources for our residents on their website. The numbers are updated daily at 7:00 PM. Mayor Nirenberg and Judge Wolff give nightly updates at 6:13 PM on TVSA. TVSA can be seen on the following video providers: Spectrum Cable Channel 21, Grande Cable Channel 20, AT&T U-verse Channel 99, Digital Antenna Channel 16.1 and online at www.sanantonio.gov/tvsa or www.facebook.com/COSAGOV. For information on Governor Abbott's Orders, click here. Community Spotlight Did you know that there are markers that designate the path of the El Camino Real de los Tejas? These granite markers were placed in five mile intervals along the El Camino Real as a statewide project by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Each of these markers read: "Kings Highway, Camino Real, Old San Antonio Road, Marked by the Daughters of the American Revolution and the State of Texas, A.D. 1918". We have one right here in District 10! It’s located on the corner of Higgins and Nacogdoches. When you get a chance please go visit this piece of history in our District. The District 10 office worked closely with El Chaparral/Fertile Valley and Pepperidge Neighborhood Associations to ensure that this monument remained protected. The monument was recently restored and placed on a pedestal and surrounded by fencing.  Big thank you to Rodney Dziuk and his team at Public Works for their hard work in preserving our own little piece of history. ‌ ‌ ‌
